Our pickling cucumbers are ripe and ready. It's time to make pickles. Most days we have them available by the 10 lb bag in the store. If you are interested in getting your hands on our special smaller cucumbers, called Gherkins, please see our Gherkin section below. Please note that with all of our farm products, including cucumbers, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature and sometimes we don't have them every day.
Gherkins: We pick and sort our cucumbers into bags according to size. The smaller ones are called Gherkins and they are the preferred cucumber for most picklers. Our gherkins are sold each day on a first come, first served basis to in store customers. The cucumbers are generally done being picked, sorted and bagged by 10 a.m.We begin taking names and lining up "gherkin customers" at 9 a.m. when we open. Arriving early and waiting in line is the best way to guarantee you'll get gherkins that day. Any gherkins that are not sold to in store customers can be sold to phone customers after 10:30 or so. This will require full payment with a credit card at the time of the order and will need to be picked up by closing that day.
Going, Going, Gone -- U-pick berry fields almost done Open from 9 a.m - 9 p.m. daily including all weekends and holidays. Arrive no later than 8 p.m. to allow for plenty of time to pick berries before closing.
Our berry season is almost over. There are some berries out there if you are willing to hunt. Don't feel like u-picking? We still have a few berries available by the pint in the store.
