Farm to Plate dinners at Kruger's Farm...
Our Farm: Kruger's Farm is located 20 minutes from downtown Portland on Sauvie Island. It is a 100-acre working farm with berries and other crops. Typically, Farm to Plate dinners take place under the 100-year-old Oak Tree but can also be held on the Gazebo Lawn. These spaces can handle groups of up to 150 people.
Dinner Spaces: Dinner spaces at the farm include the gazebo and flower garden lawn and oak tree areas. All of our spaces are outdoors and there is no indoor space available. We have two 20' x 20' white tents that are available for in inclement weather. We do have indoor restrooms with flush toilets, a large walk-in cooler and some storage space that can be used by the caterer.
Catering: Our own in-house caterer is Lori who prepares the food for our own Farm-to-Plate dinner series. She can be reached at 503-332-4382. Or, you can choose to use any of the following caterers for your event: Culinary Artistry, Delilah's' Catering, Devil's Food Catering, Popp Catering and Events,Simpatica Cateringand Vibrant Table Catering & Events. These wonderful caterers prepare menus utilizing fresh ingredients grown here on the farm. We do require that all events utilize one of these fine caterers for all food and beverage (including alcohol) service. Download a list of caterers here.
Alcohol:All alcohol service must be arranged through your catering company. We do not allow self-service alcohol.
Equipment: We have 15 picnic tables and an assortment of other banquet tables and some chairs available. For a complete list please contact us. All other equipment will need to be rented from a rental company and your caterer will happily take care of this for you.
Music, Dogs and Other Stuff: We allow acoustic music on the property with some amplification to balance instruments. In kindness to our island neighbors, we will determine volume levels on all amplified music. In accordance with noise ordinances, all music must end by 10 p.m. And, yes, we do allow leashed dogs on the property.
Weddings: Multnomah County has determined that weddings are not an appropriate use for EFU (Exclusive Farm Use) farm land. We will continue to argue that it is patently unfair that wineries who grow grapes and produce wine are allowed to have weddings on their EFU farmland while farms who grow food are not. Please contact us if you'd like to join us in our efforts to continue to fight this ruling.
